Alaska Airlines: The Alaska Airlines jet makes at least two stops to the Kodiak Airport from Anchorage per day. Be sure and check their schedule to see if they have a flight(s) that match your itinerary.
Alaska Marine Ferry: There used to be daily scheduled marine ferry sailings from Homer to the town Kodiak, on Kodiak Island. Unfortunately, the marine ferry system has been underfunded for years and has become unreliable. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time when scheduling a trip on the ferry, as there may be delays.
There are many more places to stay than what's listed below, these are places our customers have recommended
Website This is a standard Best Western
Website The nicest hotel in town- and the newest
Website Nothing fancy, but downtown and convenient
There are three campgrounds on the Kodiak road system managed by Alaska State Parks: Ft. Abercrombie Historical Park, Buskin River State Recreation Area and Pasagshak State Recreation Area.

They have pickup trucks and can haul a lot of freight
Kodiak Island has one of the richest fisheries in the world. If you're interested in catching halibut, king salmon and rockfish (to name a few popular species), then don't waste your time looking elsewhere. There are quite a few charter boat operators, but I'll just list two for brevity: Kodiak Island Adventures and Eric Raisley #(907)539-1890.
